Membership

BRPPA has two classes of Membership: Ordinary and Associate.

Ordinary Membership

Ordinary Membership is open to companies of all sizes. But they must be engaged in the manufacture, in the EU, or in the UK products made wholly or partly from rubber, polymeric, plastic, poromeric, or similar materials. BRPPA subscription cost is related to turnover.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership applies to suppliers of machinery, equipment and materials to the industry and companies which make components or products closely related to products manufactured by the industry. There is a fixed subscription cost.

Structure

Board

Overall responsibility for the activities of the Association lies with the BRPPA Board, which consists of the elected Chairman and up to 8 representatives of Ordinary Members and 2 representatives of Associate Members.

Groups

Below Board level BRPPA runs three Groups.

  • Compounding Group - This consists of the representatives of membersthat have an interest in rubber compounding, whether as part of there overall activities or as specialist custom compounders. The Group discusses a wide range of issues and is particularly concerned with the application of the new EU chemicals regulation (REACH) to the rubber goods sector. It meets 3 - 4 times a year.
  • Polyurethane Elastomers Group - This group consists of companies engaged in the manufacture of polyurethane elastomers, it too addresses a diverse range of topics, concentrating particularly on health, safety and environmental issues. It meets 3-4 times a year.
  • Marketing Group - This meets on an ad hoc basis to consider how the association can best present itself both extenal and internal. It supervises work on media-relations, membership recruitment, Association events and member liaison.
