British Rubber and Polyurethane Manufacturers Association [BRPPA] off to a flying start

London: the newly launched British Rubber and Polyurethane Manufacturers Association [BRPPA] began 2006 strongly.  At its first General Meeting in November 2005, representatives from six of the major players in the industry were elected to form the new Board, and since that meeting the Board has received membership commitment from twenty-six companies.  Discussions are currently taking place with a further twenty-five companies which have expressed an interest in membership.

Chairman Richard Gogerty is very encouraged by this early response, saying:

“Our commitment to forming this new trade association has been justified by the interest it has engendered in our sector of the industry.  Companies have appreciated that BRPPA is able to offer help and support specifically for general rubber goods and polyurethane product manufacturers.

“Since that meeting, we have also been fortunate enough to obtain the services of Steve Stone to act as the association’s director.  Steve has joined the board to help to grow membership and develop the services which BRPPA is able to offer its members.  He has a wealth of technical and business expertise, having only recently retired as a main board director of Avon Rubber Company, and is a well-known personality within the industry, both in the UK and abroad.”

The formation of BRPPA is a major opportunity for rubber and polyurethane component manufacturers, and membership will prove to be a major benefit to the one hundred and fifty plus companies which qualify.  Besides having access to an extensive range of member services, a broad membership base will enhance BRPPA’s influence with both government and legislative regulators.
